Juranek Mild to moderate diarrheal disease continued to occur throughout Peace Corps service but decreased in incidence as length of stay increased. Various dietary behaviors increased the risk for diarrheal illness, suggesting that avoidance of potentially risky foods and beverages is actually beneficial.
