    Excerpt

To the editor: deShazo and associates (1) have shown deficient cell-mediated immunity in asymptomatic hemophiliac patients and abnormal OK T4/T8 ratios but normal mitogenic responses in five wives of patients with factor VIII deficiencies. The acquired immunodeficiency syndrome has been identified in male homosexuals (2), intravenous drug users (3), Haitians (4), hemophiliacs (1), and more recently in female partners of intravenous drug users (5). We report a similar syndrome in wives of bisexual men with the syndrome, thereby expanding the group at risk.

All the male patients admitted to multiple, anonymous homosexual contacts and the use of various recreational drugs
