To the editor: The article by Kuhlmann and colleagues (1) and the accompanying editorial in the January 1980 (2) issue both point out the need for long-term follow-up data on patients with renovascular hypertension treated by percutaneous transluminal dilatation. Two aspects of the article concern me: First, why did the authors choose to report only subjects with unilateral disease involving the left side; second, a number of cases seem to be the same ones that the authors described at the 51st Scientific Session of the American Heart Association (3) in November 1978.
