The biosynthesis and control of adrenocortical steroids and current ideas on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with Addison's disease, Cushing's syndrome, mineralosteroid excess, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, and adrenal virilism, are among topics reviewed in this volume of the contemplated 13-volume series Comprehensive Endocrinology. There are separate chapters on the adrenal medulla and radionuclide imaging in adrenal disease. Each volume is indexed separately and available individually.

In the preface Dr. Biglieri surprisingly is listed as the author of the chapter on mineralocorticoid excess when in fact that chapter was written by Dr. Stockigt. There are 13 authors, but the editor
