Excerpt

The first edition of this atlas appeared 7 years ago and provided a high-quality atlas of the facial features of about 75 genetic disorders. The book suffered, however, from the lack of an index and from other aids to the physician in making the correct diagnosis based on abnormal facial features. The second edition has largely overcome these failings.

An introduction with guidance in how to use the atlas most effectively is followed by tables classifying major facial abnormalities. There is a useful, concise chapter on obtaining the family history, on common modes of inheritance, and on genetic counseling. Chapters
