We are beginning to see a much needed proliferation of textbooks on childhood cancer. The second edition of Tumours in Children is unique in that it deals with a uniform population of patients living in the Manchester Hospital region in England. It covers a 15-year span from 1954-1968 and includes analysis of data on 1589 patients. The book draws heavily on the rich resource of the Manchester Children's Tumour Registry. It is impressive to read about 30-year follow-ups.
