    To the editor: We read with interest the paper, "Pulmonary Calcifications in Chronic Dialysis Patients: Clinical and Pathological Studies" by Conger and colleagues in the September issue (Ann Intern Med 83:330-336, 1975). In their series they found a 60% (9 out of 15) occurrence of pulmonary calcification in patients who had long-standing renal insufficiency requiring hemodialysis. Only 1 of these 9 cases showed evidence of pulmonary calcification on the X rays; the rest were diagnosed on autopsy.

    We believe that bone scanning is useful in this situation. Radionuclide bone imaging is a sensitive indicator of skeletal lesions (1). In addition
