    To the editor: In recent years the use of factor VIII concentrates in hemophilia A has revolutionized the treatment of bleeding emergencies for these patients. Similar expectations are held for the use of concentrates of the prothrombin complex such as Konȳne® (concentrate of factors II, VII, IX, and X, produced by Cutter Laboratories, Berkeley, Calif.). The producers of all concentrates from pooled human plasma warn against the risk of hepatitis and warn that they cannot warrant that the product will be free of the hepatitis virus.
