Abstract
Follow-up evaluation was carried out on 43 of 64 young men in whom a diagnosis of "fixed" orthostatic proteinuria had been established 10 years earlier. Forty-nine percent of the patients still had some type of clinical proteinura. Clinical or laboratory evidence of progressive renal disease was not found in a single patient. The 10-year prognosis of patients with this disorder is excellent, although the long-term outlook of those patients with continuing proteinura must still be regarded with some reservation. The final clinical expression of "fixed" orthostatic proteinuria has not yet been established in all patients.
