SUMMARY
A 49-year-old woman had pemphigus vulgaris for 8 years. She had been treated for 5 years with prednisolone in increasingly high doses, up to 200 mg daily, and had developed numerous and life-threatening side-effects. She was treated over the last 3 years with cyclophosphamide, 200 mg daily, in four separate courses. This allowed gradual reduction in the high maintenance doses of prednisolone and induced remissions.
