This statement was issued by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (U. S. Public Health Service) from its meeting in May 1967.
During the winter and spring of 1966-67, the influenza reported in the United States was limited to minor outbreaks and individual cases. Type A2 influenza virus was recovered only from several small outbreaks in the eastern States. Type B virus was identified in the Southwest, particularly in California and Arizona.
