One cannot be expected to give an extensive description of normal and pathological roentgen anatomy of the heart and great vessels in little more than 400 pages. With remarkable skill, Zdansky has been able to condense this large field in which he includes acquired and congenital heart disease without losing important material, although some chapters are very limited. The normal roentgenological appearance of the heart in childhood, for instance, is discussed on 1½ pages and illusstrated by three schematic drawings.
