The purpose of Dr. Moses' book is aptly stated in the title and is carried out with both thoroughness and brevity. As anyone who has worked in this field knows, if he is to act at all, he must make decisions based on insufficient facts and act on them. This the author does with firmness. One could argue with many of his conclusions and recommendations, yet to do so might be to hinder the practical application of theoretical knowledge and to frustrate the physician's basic instinct that he must do something.
