Stokes was apparently the first to describe atrial sounds (1), and Webster (2) was probably the first to record transmitted waves in the radial pulse. The purpose of the following report is to describe the presence of distinct double atrial sounds and to discuss the nature of atrial impulses recorded over the left radial artery in a patient with heart block.
