Excerpt

Dr. Robert A. Cohen: We wish to present today a review of some of our studies on the metabolism of the catecholamines. We shall begin with a discussion of some basic research on biosynthesis, and on the action of certain psychotropic drugs on the metabolism of the amines, and will then move on to clinical studies in normal controls and patients.

We have selected this topic for several reasons. The catecholamines are of great importance to all of us; they are being widely studied throughout the National Institutes of Health, and we believe that it might be interesting to you

Summario in Interlingua
