INTRODUCTION Hemorrhage into soft tissue secondary to hemophilia is a rare cause of peripheral vascular occlusion. Seven cases of hemophilia with this complication leading to gangrene have been previously reported.1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 10, 11 Operative treatment was used in all and resulted in loss of either life or limb. Newer methods of therapy are now available and allow a more rational and more conservative approach. The present case of hemophilia is reported not only for its rare complication but also to demonstrate the successful outcome of conservative management.
