        In parallel to the process followed by the American College of Physicians, the Committee on Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics makes recommendations to the American Academy of Pediatrics Board of Directors on immunization recommendations for infants, children, and adolescents. Harmonization of recommendations with the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (CDC) is optimized at several levels, including annual publication of the joint Recommended Immunization Schedule for Persons 0 Through 18 Years of Age.
