The recent position paper by the American College of Physicians (1) drew many lessons from international health care systems and the Veterans Administration and made several recommendations. In pointing out success stories, the article overlooked one of the largest health care systems in the United States, which covers more than 9 million men, women, and children: the U.S. Department of Defense's Military Health System (MHS) TRICARE health plan.
