Diabetic Muscle Infarction Mistaken for Infectious Cellulitis

    Background:Annals recently published a review of diseases that masquerade as infectious cellulitis (1). The review did not mention diabetic muscle infarction.

    Objective: We describe a case of diabetic muscle infarction that was mistaken for cellulitis.

    Case Report: A 20-year-old woman was hospitalized for evaluation and treatment of refractory cellulitis. She had had type 1 diabetes mellitus since 2 years of age with poor glycemic control but no known end-organ damage.
