1. Exacerbation of Acute intermittent porphyria by substance abuse

    In their excellent review on porphyria Anderson et al (1) fail to mention substance abuse, particularly marijuana, ecstasy, amphetamines, and cocaine as an important precipitants of acute exacerbations of acute intermittent porphyria.
