We are pleased to announce that Dr. Peter Dans has been appointed Deputy Editor of Annals. Dr. Dans is an internist with special interests in infectious diseases, health policy, and ethics. Many authors already know him both because he has worked with us part time during the past year and because he has been leading a full professional life, most recently in the Department of Medicine at Johns Hopkins, before joining the staff of Annals. Those who know him can attest to the energy, high standards, good will, and intelligence that characterize his work.
