To the Editors: We recently reported the predictive values of ST-segment changes occurring only in the recovery period of exercise testing (1). These relatively high predictive values were an important observation because the recovery period electrocardiographic (ECG) data can be obscured or missed in analyzing the exercise test by a cool-down walk (2), nuclear procedures (3), and ST-segment scores (4). A cool-down walk has even been recommended for safety reasons (5). Colleagues have pointed out, however, that it was inappropriate to include patients with previous myocardial infarctions in our population.
