The American College of Physicians has taken a unique step in selecting a husband and wife team to be the new editors of Annals of Internal Medicine. The team is Robert and Suzanne Fletcher, and this issue is the first to come out under their names.

The Search Committee for the Annals Editor, of which I was Chair, had only two fixed requirements (1). First, the editor must be a physician, preferably an internist; second, he or she must be based in Philadelphia.
