    In this issue, Lassoued and colleagues (1) describe findings related to the presence of autoantibodies to lamin proteins B, A, and C in a heterogeneous group of patients with thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, and liver disease. Autoantibodies to lamin proteins have previously been described by McKeon and colleagues (2), Reeves and colleagues (3) and in an unpublished paper (Wesierska-Gadek, J, et al. Antibodies to nuclear lamins in autoimmune liver diseases). The present authors and others have described the characteristics of the immunologic reaction that comprises autoantibodies detectable by Western blotting of lamin B (a protein of 68 kilodaltons) and of lamins A
