To the editor: Radack and colleagues (1) have noted that administration of Ibuprofen, 400 mg three times a day for 21 days, can cause an increase in blood pressure in treated hypertensive patients. A 21-day Ibuprofen regimen in this dosage is useful regimen for chronic treatment of inflammatory conditions, but it exceeds the 10-day maximum recommended duration of use of nonprescription Ibuprofen, making their observations inapplicable to the usual nonprescription use of Ibuprofen (such as for headache or fever).
