    Pulmonary Sporotrichosis is a chronic progressive disease that requires systemic antifungal therapy or surgical resection for treatment. We report the case of a patient with extensive cavitary pulmonary sporotrichosis who had a spontaneous remission.

    A 23-year-old man with chronic alcohol abuse and type I diabetes mellitus was admitted to Hennepin County Medical Center in May 1984 with a 2-month history of chronic cough intermittently productive of bloody sputum. There was also a 2-day history of fever. The patient's diabetes had not been well-controlled, and he had lost 45 kg since 1982. The patient had no history of exposure to tuberculosis,
