    Excerpt

Various immunologic abnormalities have been described in patients with Hodgkin's disease, including autoimmune hemolytic anemia and immune thrombocytopenia (1-3). Autoimmune neutropenia, however, has only recently been documented in a patient with Hodgkin's disease (4). In this report, we describe the case of a patient who had autoimmune neutropenia, hemolytic anemia, and reticulocytopenia as the initial manifestations of a relapse of Hodgkin's disease.

A 26-year-old man was transferred to the Massachusetts General Hospital with anemia, leukopenia, and fever. Eight years earlier, he had been treated with MOPP chemotherapy (mechlorethamine, vincristine, procarbazine, and prednisone) and maintenance vinblastine for stage IIIB Hodgkin's disease.
