AD LIBITUM
In a Trauma Room
Daniel C. Bryant, MD
15 December 1996 | Volume 125 Issue 12 | Page 974
I knew the respiratory therapist
who drew the gas
but not her name,
the name of the nurse
pushing Lasix
but nothing else.
And who was I, for that matter?
Another listener to lungs
in a Trauma Room.
"No tubes," the old man muttered
behind his oxygen mask.
"I've got no one."
At the words
we looked to each other,
before we looked at him.
