AD LIBITUM
Snowy Morning Murmurs
Geri Rosenzweig, RN
1 December 1996 | Volume 125 Issue 11 | Page 936
If Aristotle is right
and you reside in the heart,
then soul, my little psalmist,
you've performed
with such skill
no one's noticed
till now
that you stutter and lisp on your russet hill.
This snowy morning
you're shrill as a prophet
seeing things on the mountain,
your extra
notes of alarm
will, if they persist,
bear us to that country
from whose shore no exile ship
sails from a midnight harbor
every other Tuesday in summer.
