This truly comprehensive textbook has much in common with those works billed as textbooks of internal medicine, but it differs conspicuously in the larger fraction of space given to psychosocial and behavioral problems and to special problems in the care of women. A supplement to the main Table ofcontents lists the chapters that are found only in the CD-ROM version (for example, chapters on occupational and environmental medicine, physician impairment, and the rural physician). Generous use of tabular summaries and flow diagrams. The treatment of additional topics is sufficient to justify this new edition.
