A detailed, comprehensive, useful textbook. This edition differs from the first two in that basic science topics are placed within the chapters on the clinical problems to which they are relevant and many more tables and illustrations are used. Assessment methods, both clinical and technical, are covered in part I. Part II includes two chapters on prevention and rehabilitation. The main clinical syndromes are covered in parts III through IX. Parts X and XI cover miscellaneous topics, such as venous thromboembolism, endocrine disease and the heart, geriatric problems, and genetics.
