LITERATURE OF MEDICINE

Reviews and Notes: Clinical Examination of the Patient

15 October 1995 | Volume 123 Issue 8 | Page 639

JSP Lumley and P-MG Bouloux. 307 pages. Boston: Butterworth-Heinemann; 1994. $27.50. ISBN 0-7506-1671-7. Order phone 800-366-2665.

A heavily illustrated primer on physical examination; the color photographs show techniques clearly. The opening sections summarize the methods and aims of history taking; the closing sections summarize diagnostic investigations and briefly summarize their methods and interpretations. This text speaks mainly to medical students, but subspecialists who have forgotten methods outside of their fields might find it useful for reminders.
