Most of this finely and generously illustrated atlas-text is devoted to the primary problems of trauma and burns that make up most of the work in an emergency service. Some chapters will be helpful to internists who must deal with the more urgent problems likely to turn up with systemic disease, including the emergencies of chest pain, dyspnea, seizures, syncope, skin disease, and environmental effects. Support procedures (airway, breathing, and circulation support) are well covered. The text occasionally reflects the British origin of this book, but not frequently enough to reduce the book's value for North American practice.
