A text that sits between the typical discussion of nephrologic disease found in general textbooks of internal medicine and the typical full-scale textbook of nephrology. The occasional use of "in group" abbreviations may be off-putting to noncognoscenti. Examples: "In both RTA and IRTAD of the inherited or idiopathic type the defect persists throughout life ..."; "... the clinical features may resemble other forms of systemic vasculitis including PAN/WG, SLE or essential cryoglobulinemia." Some recommendations on therapy carry only scant detail.
