The training of the technicians who supervise the tests and interpret the results and the physics of the testing are discussed in the first two chapters. The remaining chapters deal with such subjects as evaluation of cardiac function, assessment of myocardial injury, perfusion viability, inaction and infection, and thrombus imaging. The text is clearly, if not excitingly, written and includes tables of information with accompanying diagnostic criteria. It provides numerous illustrations of the images produced and diagrams explaining their development. Two authors admit that "the nomenclature for radionuclide studies evaluating ventricular function is not standardized and remains confusing." Readers who agree will find this book useful.
