This book is the exercise electrocardiography portion of the author's book Exercise and the Heart, which was recently published in its third edition. More than half of all internists and other primary care physicians do exercise testing, says the author; he believes this testing is a particularly good idea because it facilitates the rational selection of patients for referral to a cardiologist. The thorny question of predicting improved survival after coronary artery surgery is discussed; many of the references predate 1990. Forty-two case presentations with exercise electrocardiograms are included in this new edition.
