Deborah E. Powell and Carol B. Stelling. 452 pages. St. Louis: Mosby-Year Book; 1994. $85.00.
Written by eight physicians who consider a team effort to be the proper approach to the diagnosis of breast cancer and to their book. The authors include two radiologists, two surgeons, and four pathologists. For many breast diseases, including cancer, the appearances on mammography and on biopsy are shown. The technical aspects of mammography and other diagnostic techniques are presented, and illustrations are included. Recommended to physicians who examine women's breasts; they will be able to see how their colleagues conduct their parts of the diagnostic effort. Suggested readings and references. The radiographs could be a mite more clear but are still serviceable; many of them include arrows.
