The 13th annual volume in a series intended by the editors "to provide ... a true update of information in very specific areas of infectious disease which require revaluation." Legionnaire disease was discussed in the first volume. This one includes such topics as "Fever in a Recent Visit to the Middle East," genital warts, periodontal disease, perianal infections in patients with granulocytopenia, and evaluation of patients with previous reactions to ß-lactam antibiotics. The chapter on fish and shellfish poisoning claims that more than half of the Japanese persons who "brush with death" after eating the Japanese puffer fish, called fugo, die!
