Both authors are internists, which probably accounts for the fact thatunlike many of the books that advise patients on choosing and working with their physicians to get the best possible medical carethis one is not hostile to physicians. Still, the authors readily admit that some well-meant encounters leave patients frustrated. Several such unsatisfactory doctor-patient interactions are examined. Many patients might appreciate and profit from this book, but as with all educational material, we suggest physicians read it themselves before recommending it to their patients.
