Howard C. Klein. Cleveland: Lakeside Press; 1993. $14.95.

A retired internist recounts tales of some of the more memorable patients for which he cared during 50 years of practice. His insightful recollections, describing events such as late-night house calls, will be of interest to physicians. Klein also addresses weightier issues: for example, chapter 10 (of 12), "A Guide to the Perplexed: How to Choose Your Doctor," asserts the increased need of patients today for a primary physician.
