LITERATURE OF MEDICINE

Reviews and Notes: A Colour Atlas and Text of Diet-Related Disorders

1 February 1994 | Volume 120 Issue 3 | Page 254

A Colour Atlas and Text of Diet-Related Disorders

Second edition. Donald S. McLaren. 336 pages. St. Louis, Missouri: Mosby-Year Book; 1993. $75.00.

Generally excellent color photographs of patient appearances, lesions, organ appearances, and tissue sections illustrating diseases and disorders related to malnutrition, misnutrition, hereditary disorders, and food idiosyncrasies and toxicoses. These are supplemented with radiologic images, line illustrations, flow graphs, and maps. Includes explanatory notes for illustrations and introductory text for various sections. This edition, with a scope much wider than just nutritional disorders, differs substantially from the first.
