This softcover book discusses how to think about preventive measures in practice, how to organize for preventive services, how to manage needs for information and skills in communication, and the values of, and methods for, interventions in problems like smoking, alcohol consumption, and lack of exercise. Adequate emphasis on cancer prevention and screening. Recommendations are concise and specific. Some aspects of the text are specifically relevant to practice in the United Kingdom.
