LITERATURE OF MEDICINE

Reviews and Notes: Endocrinology: Surgical Endocrinology

15 January 1994 | Volume 120 Issue 2 | Page 175

Surgical Endocrinology

John Lynn, and Stephen R. Bloom; eds. 579 pages. Stoneham, Massachusetts: Butterworth-Heinemann; 1993. $295.00.

Essentially a detailed general text on those endocrine disorders that may be treated surgically, but most of its content is as relevant to medical care as to surgical matters (relevant basic science, diagnosis, imaging, and medical treatment). Surgical methods are illustrated. The extensive use of color illustrations of technique and tissue sections may account in part for the relatively high price.
