Hyphenation may have caused some ambiguity in the recent article by Wong and colleagues [1]. The sentence "In summary, we have shown that
-interferon is effective for the treatment of patients with chronic HBV infection and compensated liver disease who are HBsAg-, HBeAg-, and HBV DNA-positive and HIV-negative in the setting of clinical trials". should have read as follows: "In summary, we have shown that
-interferon is effective for the treatment of patients with chronic HBV infection and compensated liver disease who are positive for HBsAg, HBeAg, and HBV DNA and negative for antibody to HIV in the setting of clinical trials".
