A relatively short (compared to some competitors) text. Two short chapters on history-taking and physical examination are followed by nine chapters on examination methods, findings, and interpretations relevant to the major groups of systemic disease. These are followed by a short chapter on a system for examination for infectious diseases and three appendixes on recording the examination, a method for screening examination, and preanesthetic medical assessment. For its purposes, adequately illustrated with pictures of patients, lesions, radiologic images, anatomic diagrams, and so on. Students who master the material will have adequate basic tools for competence. Good value for the price.
