IN RESPONSE:
Marijuana use is a well-recognized factor contributing to the development of gynecomastia. However, in the patient we examined, we were unable to detect any evidence of such use despite a careful history and physical examination. Although we cannot rule out this possibility, we believe that marijuana use is an unlikely explanation for this patient's gynecomastia.
