Second edition. Henry Schneiderman. 159 pages. Philadelphia: American College of Physicians; 1992. $17.00 for ACP members, $19.00 for nonmembers.
This new edition contains some new entries and has dropped some of those from the first edition. Schneiderman's annotations are terse and often helpfully judgmental, good qualities for busy clinical teachers and physicians consulting his compilation. An excellent example of his clarity of views is his accurate annotation of the 1989 paper by Oboler and LaForce on the periodic screening examination, which was knee-jerk damned by many readers for what it was not.
