AD LIBITUM

I Am an Internist (A Haiku Cycle)

right arrow Eliot A. Brinton

15 November 1993 | Volume 119 Issue 10 | Page 1049

Student of body

parts unknown notes tests new worlds

trod upon spring grass.

White coat worn handbook

edges fill pockets, tired eyes

stroke a fevered brow.

Deep probing, patient

trials thrust forward harvest

light shadows of pain.

Gray furrows gather

young thoughts pointed tales humor

careful paths in snow.
