A Good Death: Taking More Control at the End of Your Life

T. Patrick Hill and David Shirley. 176 pages. Reading, Massachusetts: Addison-Wesley; 1992. $11.95.

A survey of legal, technologic, personal, social, ethical, and religious issues bearing on the desire and right of an individual to decide on how to die or on being allowed to die. The appendixes include a sample living will and power of attorney, a summary of relevant state laws, and information on additional publications available from Choice in Dying, the sponsor of this book. The text is aimed at a broad audience but is often too polysyllabic in its prose for nonprofessionals.
